Types of Diabetes and Symptoms

Diabetes 101:

Diabetes is proven to be the greatest threat to the human civilization. Various medical facilities are trying to find a possible disease cure. It mainly arises due to the pancreas's inability to proper insulin secretion or the body being resistive about it.

3 Types of Diabetes

Type 1 Diabetes

This type of diabetes is an autoimmune disease that is diagnosed at the time of birth or during a very early stage. In this, the pancreas does not make enough insulin so that the body can properly utilize it for energy production.

Type 2 Diabetes

This type of diabetes is pretty standard and accompanied by 90% of cases. It can happen due to many cases, such as lifestyle hazards, poor eating habits, genetics, and a sedentary life. Among the significant causes is when the body becomes resistant to insulin or produces it in less amount.

Gestational Diabetes

This type of diabetes can happen during pregnancy. The body generally demands high insulin during this stage, and if the body can't provide it, it can be termed Gestational Diabetes. This condition improves typically after pregnancy but makes the mother susceptible to type 2 diabetes.

Increased Thirst and Urination

When blood sugar is high, the body tends to dump extra sugar through urination, especially at night. It is pretty simple: as we lose lots of liquid while urinating, we are bound to feel thirsty. This can be an early defense mechanism of the body, which cannot balance levels of sugar.

Unexplained Weight Loss

In type 2 diabetes, insulin cannot be appropriately used by the body for energy generation. In this case, our body starts breaking down fat and muscles for energy, which may explain sudden weight loss.
